Privacy policy: what MyGOAT keeps and why
Updated 4 November 2026.
What we keep
Your name and email address, when you create an account. If you continue with Google, Google gives us your name and email address.
Your picks and the players you nominate in Picks, your votes, and your reactions and predictions on games, with when you made them.
When you create an account or log in, the country, region and city your internet connection comes from (not the address itself), whether you used the iPhone app, the Android app or the website, and on a phone, a tablet or a computer. With a new account, also the site that first sent your browser to MyGOAT, the first page it opened and when. While you use MyGOAT, the pages you open, the app or the website, and the country and city you use it from, kept with a random number in your browser for a month. We use it to see where fans find us and what they look at.
A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in on your device.
While you are signed out, your browser counts which comparisons you have opened, for the five free ones. That count stays on your device.
Your notifications, and where your picks stood when you last looked, so we can tell you when they move.
When someone opens your picks, or a comparison is opened, we count it once a person. A signed-out browser keeps a random number so it is counted once.
If you open someone's picks and then create an account, we tell them a fan joined from their picks, with your name.
What you post: your comments, replies and voice notes, your bio and your photo.
When you report a comment or a fan, we keep the report, what it was about and who sent it, so we can deal with it. The fans you block are kept with your account.
